When shopping for a VHF a few years ago I saw an ad for another manufacturer that said, "As good as an iCom". That convinced me to only buy iCom radios. I have never been disappointed! BTW, if you hook up pwr/ground backwards it will burn out, no protection.

I use this radio in an open jet sled and it takes a beating from the weather and the rought water.
The radio has worked great so far. Sound is outstanding from the speaker.
