Lightest Weight 4-Stroke in its Class and one of the quietest rides on the water. Whether you need auxiliary power, primary power, or a kicker for backup, the Tohatsu 8 and 9.8- HP 4-strokes offer the power, fuel economy, and features you need. A dynamically balanced crankshaft and newly designed upper rubber mounts greatly reduce vibration to ensure smooth, stable running throughout the entire rpm range. The digital CD Ignition system produces quicker ignition timing response at any rpm and conditions, providing faster starts, quicker throttle response, and smoother trolling. A larger capacity air silencer greatly reduces induction noise. The fast-idle choke system on the carburetor eliminates the need for difficult choking techniques and enables simplistic starting, while the newly designed recoil starter has a larger starter reel making manual starting fast and easy. A wider cavitation plate for quicker planning and reduced slash. A sacrificial Anode trim tab on the gear case stabilizes steering torque for any running condition while also helping to protect the engine from electrolysis and corrosion. Geared with Forward, Neutral, and Reverse for convenient operation. 3.1 gallon external fuel tank included.

Comments about Tohatsu Tohatsu 8 Horsepower Four-Stroke Outboard Motor:

i bought this motor in [...] ventura CA. I took the motor to the lake it ran for about 1 hour. Then after that it would not start unless the fuel was drained from it. this process had to be done every time we wanted to start this motor. The motor is 14 days old and it in the shop for repairs. i woould not buy another motor from a place that dosen't have an on site service department.
