Comments about C.E. Smith Heavy Duty Center Console Cover:

I have the one made for the Center Console )shown here) and the same brand/style made for the Bench Seat behind the CC.

I wish there were alternatives because this product in blue looks very good really, is trivial to put on and does protect the CC from the sun damage which is the whole point of this.

It is vented so I have never had a problem with mildew on the upholstery after a long winter store season.
I did have to string about 9 bungie cords around it because it's internal drawstring does not allow for a strong 'grip' and the wind can blow this thing off.
It will stay on during a gale with the bungie cord wrap around.

Besides using them in the summer, I used them to cover the CC and Bench Seat for the winter. Stayed on the whole winter and that was through several snow storms and super winds.

I rated this as a one because it only lasts one season. The color is all washed out (went from blue to grey) and it has started to tear so I need to buy another set for the CC and Bench Seat.

The fact that the cover faded so bad and wore out from just the sun beating on it in one year will convince anyone who does not believe that you need to keep the Center Console and any of the vynl seats covered.

I wish there was an alternative but I used a different brand (forget make now) the first year of my 2005 boat and it was completely ruined by the end of the year. Trash can material.

With this cover, I could probaly get the rest of this season out of the cover as the tearing is not so bad but the fading nmakes the boat look like a scowl.

The cover for my Yamaha 150 OB is made by Yamaha and bought through them. That engine cover was used the same time as the cover decribed here and yet it still looks new. I bought that with the new boat (2005 model)so the Yamaha Cover has 1 more season on it.

So, my experience with the Yamaha cover lets me know that there is a product out there that will do the trick for covverong my CC and Bench Seat and continue to look like new.
Spending this money every year to buy a new one makes ZERO sense.

I can find no alternative so
I am off to buy another one as I write this. Dumb I know but one needs to protect the very expensive CC and its mounted gadgets

Comments about C.E. Smith Heavy Duty Center Console Cover:

Works great if you never have to remove it although it did foil the seagulls and tree droppings. Sunlight deteriorated this product over one season and I need to replace it again. Very disappointed in description and durability.

Vinyl is very hard to fold in cooler weather. Doesn't store easily.
