The Battery Pal is a cost effective device for the prevention of sulfation which occurs to idle batteries when they drop below 12.4 volts. The Batter Pal provides a small maintenance charge which keeps the battery at 100% charge without boiling away the electrolyte. I have eliminated the need for removing my deep cycle battery from my boat for occasional recharge on a high capacity charger by keeping the Battery Pal connected at all times when away from the boat. The Battery Pal is also an excellent way to keep stored batteries such as lawn tractors, etc up to charge over the winter when self discharge can ruin an otherwise good battery which will sulfate below 12.4 volts. Sulfation makes a battery loose its full charge capacity.

I took my perfectly functioning battery out of my bowrider at the end of the season, and stored it connected to this charger. Next season took it out and installed it. Nothing.. had to buy a new battery. I threw this charger away. I am trying a "Battery Tender Waterproof" this year. I am not sure if this one boiled or overcharged my battery, but if I wanted to have a dead battery after the winter I could have just left it alone. Don't waste your money on this one.

keeps batteries up on my boat. so the bilge pump will work at all times.stoops the boat from sinking
