I installed this unit on my previous boat and my new boat, and it has been extremely reliable. My current boat is a cuddy cabin and the stereo is a little difficult to get to from the helm, so the wireless remote is extremely convenient. It has a lot more control over the unit than you might expect. This unit has plenty of power to power 4 6" speakers and 2 tweeters.
It was easy to install, easy to use, and it sounds great. Can't beat it for the price.
I don't know about waterproofness (is that a word?) because mine have been protected, but it does everything that I need, and my boats take a beating in the harbor and offshore fishing.
