It is kind of unfir that I have to give these a 3 star rating. It should actually be a 2 star. The reason being is I ordered these for my boat. This item is mis-represented because when I got them the box they came in from the manufacturer plainly says "Water Resistant" and when I looked at the manual it says "These speakers are water resistant and they are NOT waterproof". I can not remark on the actual performance of this product because it never got hooked up. I bought "Truely" waterproof speakers.

We have installed these speakers on our boat and they are interfaced into the stereo and the TV output goes to the stereo to give us the equivalent of surround sound. The speakers put out great sound and you can't beat the price. They are attractive also.

I would not reccomend this product for a boat. The salt water conditions caused the speaker grills to rust in a matter of 2-3 weeks. They would probably be ok for home outdoor use (buy covers) or inside would be ok as well.

Got a great deal on these speakers- hooked them up in my boat and they sounded great! After a few trips in the saltwater the grilles were a nice rust color but sound was not affected.

On installation... the Mounting Nut fell inside the box as I was screwing onto the bracket.
I Jury rigged another insert nut & the old one caused the speaker to rattle.
I ended up drilling a hole in the speaker box with a circular hole drill to remove & reinstall the original nut.
The speaker grills are showing rust & they're only 2 months old.
Other than that... Sound quality is good !!

Speaker are used on our Pontoon boat. Had a system that came with the boat but up-graded to better power head. Purchased speakers and have had the boat in water and (uncovered in Fl) all summer with no problems at-all. Kids (teenagers) use and love the sound of the spekers on the boat. Will purchase set for our new pontoon.

What a great sound and the plastic boxes are durable. Had some marine ones before with metal boxes that rusted really bad. These speakers just look better too.

You get what you pay for, inexpensive but will not last in a salt water environment..began to rust with in one month..an eye sore on an otherwise pristine well maintained boat...Spend the money for a TRUE BOAT SPEAKER !

I bought these speakers at the boater's world store in Wilmington, NC. After one month and two times out on the water the screens on the speakers started rusting. I have now had the speakers on the boat for 3 months, and they are so rusted that they are leaving marks on my boat where they have dripped, not to mention they look terrible. Boater's World won't take them back without the original packaging. I asked boatersworld.com about it, and they have said that they are completely seperate company from the physical stores, so they won't do anything. I asked Dual who said that these speakers are outdoor speakers, but not marine speakers, as they will not hold up to saltwater. Why would a boating supplies store distribute items not meant for use on a boat? Who knows? Anyway. Don't buy these. They are terrible, and boater's world won't stand behind them. Go to Walmart--they have boat speakers, and if you don't like what you get, you can take it back.

These speaker will rust and corode ! Something made for Marine use should be made with aluminum rather than cheap steel. Might last a year.
