The new Okuma "Salina" spinning reels have been designed with a very powerful drive system. The main gear is helical cut from high density material 50 percent stronger than standard gearing, and combines with a machine cut brass pinion gear to produce a drive train that is smooth, efficient, and ideal for tough fishing conditions. Salina reels have a dual force drag system incorporating oiled felt washers. A multi-disk drag in the front of the spool works in conjunction with a secondary drag at the back of the spool to maximize high drag pressures and give a smooth release of line. It has an oversized bail arm, elliptical oscillation for improved line lay, 4 corrosion resistant stainless bearings and a quick set antireverse roller bearing. Okuma's "Hydro Block" seal protects the drag system from moisture. The frame, side plate and rotor are rigid diecast aluminum and the forged aluminum screw-in handle has an oversize grip. Okuma's Rotor Equalizing System guarantees a smooth retrieve.

Meets and exceed all expectations for a salt water super reel. Excellent for red snapper and bottom fishing in the gulf of mexico. Clean up easy. Streamline design makes good handling for fighting big fish. This is by far the best Okuma reel I have ever owned. No play in retrival system makes feel of control more confident for all fish.
