WAAS - What Is It? The Best Fix You Can Get!
WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) is a network of ground-based stations spread across the United States that correct any errors in the Global Positioning System. After receiving data from sub-stations, master stations correct for satellite drift, Selective Availability, and atmospheric conditions, then send this corrected data to two geostationary satellites. These satellites then broadcast the data to your WAAS-capable GPS reciever. The result is a Differential GPS system that pinpoints your position to within 3 meters.
The Raychart 320 uses the latest technology in GPS, the WAAS System to deliver pinpoint positioning, repeatable to 2.5 meters, WITHOUT a separate Differential Beacon Receiver! It also has a built-in world map to 6nm with planning chart detail including major navaids and some depth contours. For greater cartographic detail the Raychart 320 takes C-Map NT electronic charts (sold separately), and can simultaneously reads 2 electronic charts. A custom chart feature provides one touch access to chart layers for much easier navigation. Compact and sophisticated, the RayChart 320 interfaces with Raymarine's SeaTalk systems and is the ideal navigation solution when space is limited. The RayChart 320 has an easy to read FSTN 4.75'' LCD display, and stores up to 1000 alphanumeric waypoints and 20 routes with 50 waypoints per route. Includes antenna.
