WAAS - What Is It? The Best Fix You Can Get! WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) is a network of ground-based stations spread across the United States that correct any errors in the Global Positioning System. After receiving data from sub-stations, master stations correct for satellite drift, Selective Availability, and atmospheric conditions, then send this corrected data to two geostationary satellites. These satellites then broadcast the data to your WAAS-capable GPS reciever. The result is a Differential GPS system that pinpoints your position to within 3 meters.
The RayNav 300 is a full function, self-contained GPS track plotter capable of receiving GPS augmentation signals from the WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System). With WAAS GPS, the RayNav 300 delivers repeatable accuracy to 2.5 meters WITHOUT a separate differential receiver. Compact and sophisticated, the RayNav 300 interfaces with Raymarine's SeaTalk systems and is the ideal navigation solution when space is limited. The RayNav has an easy to read FSTN 4.75'' LCD display with a memory that stores up to 1000 alphanumeric waypoints and 20 routes with 50 waypoints per route. The GPS receiver has the newest in technology with the WAAS system and a 12-channel receiver. You won't be able to get the repeatability from any other GPS in its class. Antenna included. Dimensions: excluding bracket: 7.67'' W x 4.33'' H x 3'' D.
