The 251 speakers (backed by a 5 year limited warranty) have a proprietary articulated array speaker design that is engineered to reproduce sound over a large listening area. By precisely positioning the drivers inside the speaker cabinet, an Articulated Array speaker design can provide a large, consistent sound field. This allows for a more cinema-like experience with our VCS-10 center channel speaker and 161 speakers, and for more even sound coverage with our 251 outdoor speakers. This is an essential characteristic for proper outdoor performance. Plus the system's multi-chamber bass enclosure helps deliver plenty of low frequency energy. Neither snow, nor rain, nor temperatures from -22 degrees to 140 degreesF will keep these speakers from their appointed rounds.
