With the built-in NMEA 0183 Loran/GPS interface it can automatically pilot you to your next waypoint. If you like, the system can be expanded by adding a fully functional second-station with the SI-TEX SP-70 Handheld Control Unit. Real-time rudder feedback verifies the autopilot's commands and a Ghost Rudder backup allows the autopilot to use memory of rudder movements to calculate new movements in event of rudder feedback failure. Plus, Automatic Sea State and Trim controls and ten selectable levels of rudder sensitivity with high and low speed settings ensure smooth, precise steering. The SP-80 also features a Power Steering mode which offers convenient push-button steering and a Stand-By mode for manual steering situations. The waterproof control head easily installs flush or surface mounted and a bold, back lit display with ten levels of brightness allows clear reading in any light. Accurate digital displays of rudder angle and operating mode in use constantly provide you with up-to-the minute operating status.
